Frequently Asked Questions

How does studying work?
Each question is a flashcard: read the question, recall the answer, then reveal it and grade yourself Again, Hard, Good, or Easy. New cards repeat in short learning steps within the session until you know them; after that, spaced repetition takes over. A lesson is marked complete once all of its cards have graduated from learning.
What is the Review tab for?
The Review tab uses spaced repetition (the FSRS algorithm) to resurface cards you've already studied, right when they're due. Cards appear at increasing intervals — grading a card Good or Easy pushes its next review further out; Again brings it back sooner. Only cards you've previously studied in a lesson will appear here.
Does the app work offline?
Yes — all content and your progress are stored on-device, and no account is needed. No internet connection is required after the initial app download (except when making or restoring a purchase).
What is included for free, and what does Full Access add?
Baltimore Catechism No. 1 and the Prayers course are completely free, along with the first lesson of No. 2 and No. 3. The Full Access subscription unlocks every lesson of Catechism No. 2 and No. 3. Billing is handled by Apple; you can manage or cancel the subscription anytime in your App Store account settings, and restore a previous purchase from the paywall's Restore Purchases button.
Can I reset my progress?
Yes. Go to Profile → Settings → Reset Progress. This clears all learning progress and review history. The action cannot be undone, so a confirmation prompt will appear before anything is deleted.
What is Parent Mode?
Parent Mode is a biometric-protected area where you can quiz your children and track their progress separately from your own. Access it from the Profile tab. You'll need Face ID or Touch ID to enter and exit.
Which edition of the Catechism is used?
The app covers all three numbered editions of the Baltimore Catechism (No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3) plus a Prayers course. Psalm citations follow the Douay-Rheims (Vulgate) numbering. Explanations and notes are sourced from primary texts: Scripture, the Church Fathers, the Roman Catechism, and St. Thomas Aquinas.
The app isn't syncing between my devices. Why?
Cross-device sync is not available in the current version — all data is stored locally on the device you use. If you reinstall the app or switch devices, progress will start fresh. We plan to add iCloud sync in a future update.
I found a content error. How do I report it?
Please email us at wilmernilsson@gmail.com with the lesson name, question, and a description of the error. We take accuracy seriously and will review every report promptly.
