Catechism is built to keep your data on your device — and nowhere else.
Effective September 4, 2026The app stores your learning data locally on your device: lesson and review progress, streaks, achievements, settings, and profile information you enter. This data never leaves your device. It is deleted when you delete the app, and you can also clear it at any time from Profile → Settings → Reset Progress.
Catechism is designed to be safe for families. We do not collect personal information from anyone — including children. Child profiles created in Parent Mode (a name and learning progress) are stored only on your device and are never transmitted anywhere.
The optional Full Access subscription is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your name, payment details, or billing information. Subscriptions are managed and cancelled through your App Store account settings. Purchase transactions are governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Parent Mode is protected by Face ID or Touch ID. Biometric authentication is performed by the operating system; the app only receives a simple success or failure result. Your biometric data never leaves your device and is never accessible to the app.
Daily practice reminders are optional and scheduled locally on your device. The app does not use push notification servers.
The app works fully offline and makes no network requests of its own. The only communication that occurs is between your device and Apple when you make or restore a purchase.
If our practices ever change, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Because the app collects no data, we expect changes to be rare.
